Having your child’s eyes checked is one of the annual back-to-school rituals. Costco Optical Centers can help with exams, glasses, frames and blue light lenses.

Back Story

blue light from sunlight helps us regulate our sleep-wake cycles and boosts attention, reaction times and mood.

Too much blue light, however, from smartphones, computers, television screens and LED lighting, can mess with our sleep, and has been linked to eye issues from blurry vision and eyestrain to macular degeneration and cataracts.

Costco Optical Centers offer options to filter blue light on all lenses to help reduce the exposure of harmful blue light while letting in the beneficial blue light.

August is Happiness Happens Month. Founded in 1998 by a group called the Secret Society of Happy People, the month is dedicated to celebrating things that make you happy. It acts as a reminder that happiness can be found even in the little things you might take for granted, like sunrises, sunsets or sharing a meal with a loved one.

For 30 years, a magic treehouse has been the portal to adventure for siblings Jack and Annie—and countless children. Highlight of your day

If you’re looking for a way to remove highlighter marks from a book, look no further than a lemon and some cotton balls. Just slice a lemon in two and get some juice on a ball, then run the cotton ball over the text and watch the color disappear. According to familyhandyman.com, the juice fades the marks enough to make them all but undetectable.

“Hot dog!”

My mother Gloria’s only wish for her 92nd birthday was to have her fave hot dog at Costco, something that she has not treated herself to since the beginning of the pandemic. So she got her wish and invited my dad, David, to join her for lunch. She said it was the best, and she is still raving about it!

More than a feeling

Like many, Nick Faye experienced some rocky times during the pandemic. The Costco member was laid off from his job, leaving him searching for hope. Inspiration struck the musician one day as he sat outside sipping coffee, watching birds and reading the Connection. He put pen to paper, and his song “Costco Magazine” was born. “I wrote it as a way of coping with all the complicated feelings of rejection,” says Faye, who lives in Regina, Saskatchewan.
