Rimadyl was the first FDA-approved nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) for dogs to help relieve the pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis (OA). It’s the most widely recognized & preferred name-brand non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) by veterinarians.3 It works by blocking the production of certain body chemicals that cause inflammation. The nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory properties work to reduce joint inflammation while the analgesic properties work to reduce pain.

Rimadyl helps keep your dog happy and active2 with improved mobility.4 Taking Rimadyl at the recommended dose made it easier for dogs to do the activities they loved most.2 Rimadyl is such an effective treatment to control pain after just two weeks. Instructions

Follow your veterinarian’s dosage as prescribed. Your veterinarian will tell you what amount of Rimadyl is right for your dog and for how long it should be given. Most dogs will take Rimadyl Chewable Tablets right out of your hand or the caplet can be placed in the mouth. Rimadyl may be given with or without food.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION: As a class, NSAIDS may be associated with gastrointestinal, kidney and liver side effects. These are usually mild, but may be serious. Pet owners should discontinue therapy and contact their veterinarian immediately if side effects occur. Evaluation for pre-existing conditions and regular monitoring are recommended for pets on any medication, including RIMADYL. Use with other NSAIDS or corticosteroids should be avoided. Osteoarthritis, or OA, is a painful condition caused by “wear and tear” of cartilage and other parts of the joints that may result in physical and emotional changes in your dog, signs of which include:

  • Limping or lameness
  • Decreased activity or exercise (trouble standing, climbing stairs, jumping, or running)
